Fans Celebrate the Intimate Atmosphere of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival
Attendees express appreciation for the friendly interactions with stars and the festival's accommodating environment.
The Monte-Carlo Television Festival has attracted a dedicated group of fans who have made attending the event an annual tradition.
Many have traveled from various regions of France, demonstrating a commitment to interact with their favorite stars.
Laura, a regular attendee, shared her long-standing tradition: "We have been coming for 15 years.
I take only one week of vacation, and it is to come here."
Alongside Laura are her sister Aurélie, and their friends Sébastien, Martine, and Marie-Pierre, who have formed a close-knit group through their shared love of the festival.
"As soon as the dates are announced, we book our flights," Sébastien noted, indicating the importance of the event in their yearly calendars.
Fans from Nice, Caen, and Lille cited travel as part of the dedicated experience they cherish.
Unlike other festivals where premieres are the main focus, attendees expressed that the highlight of Monte-Carlo is the possibility of personal encounters with actors and actresses.
Many prefer to spend their time outside the Grimaldi Forum, where they can engage directly with stars and create memorable experiences.
The festival has designed its fan zone with comfort in mind, featuring canopies, sofas, and shaded areas to enhance the waiting experience.
Sébastien described the festival’s atmosphere, stating, "It’s the only festival where we feel so pampered." Aurélie echoed this sentiment, praising the staff's supportive demeanor towards the attendees.
Martine, who has experience attending the Cannes Film Festival, remarked on the notable differences in audience engagement at Monte-Carlo.
She observed, "The respect shown to fans is much stronger here.
The public is continuously honored and thanked, creating a more relaxed atmosphere.
Even the actors seem less stressed than at Cannes."
Photographer Nicolas, a longtime participant since the 1990s, expressed satisfaction with the festival's evolution.
He pointed out that the current setup offers more consideration for the audience and greater space.
However, he nostalgically noted the increasing presence of content creators, suggesting it detracts from the number of actors present.
Despite these changes, Nicolas remains enthusiastic about the opportunities to meet celebrities, particularly those from his favorite show, NCIS.
The festival also saw the attendance of notable figures, including Prince Albert II, who drew considerable attention.
André and Bérangère, who traveled from Roubaix for the sixteenth consecutive year, shared their admiration for the Prince, exclaiming, "It’s obviously the Prince." In a memorable moment, the Prince approached Bérangère to greet her, which she described as heartwarming, highlighting the significance of such interactions with prominent figures.
Their early morning arrival at 4:30 a.m. underscores their passion for the festival, further emphasizing their eagerness to witness interactions with celebrities.
The couple expressed their enjoyment of both American and French television series and were particularly impressed by actress Judith Light's approachability during the festival.
"I can thank her; she was amazing! I admire people like her, as she took the time to connect with everyone.
The fact that some artists show genuine appreciation for the public is truly touching," Bérangère remarked.
