France Prepares for Final Six Nations Clash Against Scotland Following Injury to Key Player
Antoine Dupont faces a significant recovery period after sustaining a knee injury, as France leads the standings before the last matchday.
On March 8, 2025, during the fourth round of the Six Nations Tournament, the French national rugby team triumphed over Ireland in Dublin with a score of 42 to 27. This victory was overshadowed by a serious injury to scrum-half Antoine Dupont, who announced via social media that he has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Dupont’s injury is particularly concerning as it involves the same knee he underwent surgery on seven years prior after sustaining a similar ligament injury in February 2018, also in Dublin, during the Six Nations.
As of now, France leads the tournament standings with 19 points, ahead of England with 15 points, Ireland with 14 points, Scotland with 11 points, Italy with 4 points, and Wales with 3 points.
France is set to face Scotland at the Stade de France on Saturday, March 15, at 21:00, in what will be the concluding match of the Six Nations Championship.
For France to secure the tournament title, they have several pathways:
1. France must defeat Scotland and achieve a bonus point.
2. If France wins but does not obtain the bonus point, England must not win their final match with a bonus point, or they must win without closing the points difference that currently exists between them and France.
3. Lastly, France could also be crowned champions if they lose to Scotland, provided that both Ireland and England also lose their respective matches.
To observe the outcomes of these scenarios, the Monaco municipality, in collaboration with the rugby section of the local sports association, will organize a series of activities at the Condamine market on March 15. From 14:30 to 23:30, there will be stands serving food and beverages, along with the live broadcast of the three matches from the tournament's final day displayed on a large screen.
The matches scheduled for broadcast include Italy versus Ireland at 15:15, Wales against England at 17:45, and France against Scotland at 21:00. Access to this event will be open and free of charge.
