Ma’a Nonu Scores Landmark Try in Toulon's Victory Over Castres

The renowned center marked his return to form with a powerful performance in the Top 14 playoffs.
In a compelling display at Stade Mayol, RCT secured a strong 52-23 victory over Castres in the Top 14 playoffs on Saturday evening.

Notably, Ma’a Nonu, the legendary New Zealand center, scored his first try in the Top 14 since 2017, adding a significant chapter to his storied career.

The moment arrived in the 78th minute, with Toulon leading 40-23. Served off a scrum by Ben White just five meters from the line, Nonu, at 43 years and 24 days old, demonstrated his trademark strength, breaking through the Castres defensive line to reach the try zone.

The score ignited jubilant celebrations among the crowd and his teammates alike.

Following the match, RCT's Director of Rugby, Pierre Mignoni, along with players Esteban Abadie and Jérémy Sinzelle, paid tribute to Nonu, emphasizing his professionalism and the significant contributions he makes to the team dynamic.
