SFR, a leading telecommunications operator in France, confirmed on Monday that it is experiencing a significant network outage affecting numerous subscribers in the Alpes-Maritimes and Var regions.
Many users took to social media to report difficulties with internet access and making phone calls as the outage began before noon.
The company stated that the technical incident is impacting users in an 'random' manner, although it did not provide specific details regarding the cause of the disruption or an estimated time for full restoration.
Technical teams have been engaged in simultaneous operations on the core network equipment to address the issues.
As of Monday afternoon, SFR indicated that a portion of the services had already been restored.
The operator has expressed hope for a return to normal service for all customers by the evening, alongside an apology for the inconvenience caused by the incident, which was deemed independent of their control.
At midday, reports on the monitoring website Downdetector indicated over 10,000 incidents of network issues from SFR subscribers.
The situation remains under active investigation by the technical teams as they work to rectify the ongoing connectivity disruptions.
