Monaco Firefighters Welcomes New Recruits in Helmet Ceremony
Four young recruits receive their intervention helmets in a ceremony honoring the legacy of fallen firefighter Henri Campredon.
On March 25, 2025, the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco held a ceremonial event in Fontvieille to present intervention helmets to four newly trained recruits.
The ceremony, presided over by Lieutenant-Colonel Maxime Yvrard, Chief of the Corps, was attended by notable officials including Lionel Beffre, Government Advisor and Minister of the Interior, Colonel Tony Varo, Commander of the Public Force, and Christophe Prat, Director General of the Department of the Interior.
The event also included Lieutenant-Colonel Martial Pied, Chief of the Carabiniers of the Prince, and Abbé Christian Venard, Chaplain of the Public Force, who bestowed blessings upon the helmets.
The recruits are part of the promotion named after 'Sergent Henri Campredon,' a firefighter who lost his life in service on January 13, 1979, at the age of 50. The ceremony was conducted in the presence of his family, adding a personal and poignant dimension to the occasion.
The recruits received their helmets from their respective sponsors, marking the completion of five months of training.
This presentation symbolizes both their dedication to the Fire Corps and their integration into a brotherhood of service.
They will participate in missions aimed at protecting individuals and property within the Principality and adjacent municipalities.
The new members will proudly uphold the Corps’ motto: 'Courage – Dedication – Sacrifice,' as they embark on their careers in emergency response.
