On April 23 and 24, 2025, the Hermitage Hotel in Monaco served as the venue for the principality's annual diplomatic conference, organized by the Department of External Relations and Cooperation.
Sixteen ambassadors representing Monaco abroad participated in two days of discussions focusing on the country’s diplomatic, economic, and environmental priorities.
The conference was presided over by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, the interim Minister of State and Minister of External Relations and Cooperation.
The event commenced with an overview of Monaco's founding principles in international action.
Minister Berro-Amadeï emphasized, "Peace, primarily, ensures the security and well-being of peoples, the respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and international solidarity, which is crucial for addressing global challenges, whether they are environmental, political, or economic."
The conference provided an assessment of Monaco's international situation and priorities.
Pierre-André Chiappori, Minister of Finance and Economy, outlined the economic outlook for the principality.
Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Equipment, Environment, and Urban Planning, discussed Monaco's climate commitments, reaffirming the importance of concrete actions amid global warming challenges.
Cultural and diplomatic dimensions were also highlighted, featuring a video conference address by Mireille Martini, General Commissioner for the Monaco Pavilion at the Osaka Kansai 2025 World Expo, alongside Didier Gamerdinger, Monaco's Ambassador to Japan.
Both outlined Monaco's strategy for this global event, which aims to enhance the principality's visibility on the international stage and showcase its expertise.
The International Cooperation Department presented a report on its activities from 2022 to 2024, detailing goals for a new action plan.
Key priorities identified include combating poverty, improving access to healthcare and education, and addressing environmental crises.
The conference concluded with an invitation for the ambassadors to visit the Grimaldi Forum, celebrating its 25th anniversary and showcasing its recent expansion.
