Monaco to Feature Themed Area at Europa-Park

Monaco to Feature Themed Area at Europa-Park

Europa-Park announces the opening of a Monaco-themed area in Spring 2026, marking a significant collaboration with the Principality.
Europa-Park, Europe’s second-largest amusement park, is set to unveil its 18th themed area, dedicated to the Principality of Monaco, in Spring 2026. Located in Rust, Germany, approximately 60 kilometers south of Strasbourg, the park has been developing this area for several years.

This new addition will celebrate Monaco's iconic themes of speed, luxury, and the vibrant flora of the Côte d'Azur.

The park, founded by the Mack family in 1975, employs over 5,000 staff members and attracted approximately 10.4 million visitors in 2023, making it the most visited park in Germany and second in Europe only to Disneyland Paris.

The Monaco-themed area joins other international attractions from countries such as Italy, France, and Spain.

Roland Mack, co-founder of Europa-Park, highlighted the strong connection between the Mack family and the Grimaldi family of Monaco, underscoring that this collaboration has been cultivated through numerous visits from Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, and their children.

Mack reminisced about a rewarding relationship that began over a decade ago when he served as a jury member at the Monte-Carlo Circus, emphasizing the family's fondness for the park and its attractions.

The prince reportedly enjoys the park's roller coasters, while his children favor the water rides.

Discussions regarding the Monaco-themed area accelerated in recent years, culminating in a collaboration agreement with the Monaco Government’s tourism department, led by Director Guy Antognelli.

While financial details of the agreement remain undisclosed, Mack noted significant investment to create an immersive experience reflective of Monaco's culture and environment, particularly focusing on the iconic Monaco Grand Prix.

Planned attractions for this area include the Silver Star, one of Europe's tallest and fastest roller coasters, reaching speeds of 130 km/h and a height of 73 meters.

The new themed area is expected to showcase the charm of Monaco through floral landscapes, luxury décor, and artistic installations, including loaned artworks from the Grimaldi family and design elements reminiscent of the Monte-Carlo Casino.

In addition to the physical attractions, the collaboration will also include special performances.

Artists from the Monte-Carlo Circus are scheduled to hold shows at Europa-Park during the winter season of 2025-2026, intertwining the worlds of circus and amusement park entertainment.

Construction for the Monaco-themed area is anticipated to initiate in 2025. Europa-Park, situated near the French-German border, aims to offer visitors a slice of the south of France within its expansive 95-hectare premises.
