Nice Côte d’Azur Airport reported a strong performance in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic passenger traffic records.
With nearly 14.8 million passengers, the airport saw a 2.5% increase in traffic compared to 2023, surpassing the previous high of 14.5 million in 2019.
The airport's network expanded significantly, offering flights to 122 destinations across 45 countries, catering to increasing demand for both leisure and business travel.
Notable routes included five direct connections to the United States, two to Canada, and six to the Gulf States.
The summer season was particularly busy, with July and August seeing 3.5 million passengers.
August 2nd marked the airport's busiest day, with over 63,000 passengers passing through.
A significant portion of these visitors were traveling to Monaco, underscoring the airport’s role as a key gateway to the region.
In line with sustainability efforts, the airport made substantial progress in reducing its carbon footprint.
By the end of 2024, direct emissions had been reduced by more than 93% compared to previous levels, with a 95% reduction since 2013. Further initiatives are planned to achieve an 11% reduction in emissions by 2034.
Ongoing upgrades to Terminal 2 are set to increase capacity from 14 million to 18 million passengers annually.
By 2025, passengers will see a new international boarding lounge, enhanced commercial areas, and an upgraded airport lounge, with additional improvements to check-in and baggage facilities expected by early 2026. The airport's expansion and sustainability initiatives reinforce its position as a leading international hub.
