Population of Monaco Reaches 38,423 Residents in 2024
New statistical report reveals steady population growth and diverse demographic composition in the Principality.
As of December 31, 2024, the population of Monaco has reached a total of 38,423 residents, according to data from the Institute of Statistical Monaco (IMSEE).
This figure reflects a modest increase of 0.1% compared to the previous year, amounting to an addition of 56 residents.
The population of the Principality has nearly doubled since 1951 and has grown by approximately 6,500 individuals since the year 2000.
In terms of gender distribution, the demographic is closely balanced, with 19,512 women (50.8%) and 18,910 men (49.2%), indicating a slight female majority in the population.
Monaco maintains its cosmopolitan character, with residents coming from 145 different nationalities.
Among these, Monegasques represent the largest group, comprising 24.1% of the population, which equates to 9,262 individuals.
The French nationals constitute the second-largest group at 21.8%, followed closely by Italian nationals at 19.5%.
Additionally, British residents account for 7.6% of the population, while Swiss and Russian nationals each make up 3.1%.
Rounding out the top ten nationalities are Belgians, Germans, Portuguese, and Dutch individuals.
