Cannes National Orchestra to Honor Gustav Mahler in March 2025
Concert featuring renowned works of the Austrian composer to take place at the Debussy Theatre.
On March 22, 2025, the Cannes National Orchestra will pay tribute to the influential Austrian composer and conductor Gustav Mahler (1860-1911).
Under the direction of conductor Benjamin Levy, the orchestra will perform a selection of Mahler's notable works, including _Zu Strassburg auf der Schanz in F minor_ (1887), orchestrated by Luciano Berio in 1987, _Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen_ for baritone and orchestra (1884-1896), _Urlicht_ (1892-1893), and the _Symphony No. 1 in D major, ‘Titan’_ (1888).
The concert will be held at the Théâtre Debussy, known for its exceptional acoustic properties, enhancing the audience's experience of the performance by baritone Stéphane Degout.
The event will take place at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, starting at 8:00 PM. Ticket prices range from 37 to 50 euros, with discounted rates available for individuals under 26 years of age.
