Cyril Hanouna Criticized by M6 Group After Comments on Bruno Guillon
The M6 Group affirms its support for Bruno Guillon following controversial remarks made by Hanouna during his show.
Cyril Hanouna, host of the talk show Touche pas à mon poste (TPMP), faced backlash from the M6 Group after making dismissive comments about fellow presenter Bruno Guillon.
In his remarks on the program, Hanouna stated, 'Bruno Guillon, I didn’t even know who he was.
I thought Bruno Guillon was an upholsterer.'
Guillon, who currently hosts the morning show on Fun Radio, is expected to work alongside Hanouna when he joins the radio station in September, which is also part of the M6 Group portfolio.
During the segment, Hanouna responded to a report from Le Parisien suggesting that Guillon had requested the Fun Radio management to avoid appearing in photographs with Hanouna.
Hanouna further remarked, 'If I have to take a picture with Bruno Guillon, it’s just as good as posing with my charcutier-traiteur.'
Additionally, Hanouna suggested that if Guillon were to leave the station, the network could consider bringing back Cauet, a former NRJ host who has faced legal issues but maintains his innocence regarding allegations made against him, including sexual assault.
In a statement posted on social media, the M6 Group expressed its full support for Guillon, stating, 'Bruno Guillon has the complete trust of the group, which is pleased that he will continue to host the morning show on Fun Radio next season.' The group also recognized the ratings success of Guillon’s program.
Cyril Hanouna’s previous network, C8, which is owned by Canal+ under billionaire Vincent Bolloré, ceased broadcasting on March 1 after failing to secure a renewal of its frequency from Arcom, the French audiovisual regulator.
This decision was significantly influenced by 'repeated failings' of the channel, which faced fines totaling €7.6 million due to controversies surrounding Hanouna’s hosting.
Hanouna announced on February 27 his departure from Canal+ to join M6 for the next season.
Meanwhile, TPMP continues to be broadcast through the web channel Zoubida TV on platforms such as Dailymotion, YouTube, Molotov, myCANAL, and various internet provider bundles.
With Hanouna’s impending arrival at M6, there are growing concerns and opposition within the organization regarding his integration into the network.
