Macao Delegation Visits Monaco to Strengthen Economic Ties

Officials from Macao's government engage with Monégasque representatives to explore collaboration in technology and tourism.
From March 8 to 9, 2025, a delegation from the Macao Special Administrative Region of China visited the Principality of Monaco as part of a European tour.

The delegation was led by Mr. Tai Kin Ip, the Secretary for Economy and Finance, accompanied by several high-ranking officials including the Director of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the Director of the Tourism Office, and a representative from the Centre for Studies at the University of Macao.

Alongside governmental figures, a group of Macanese business leaders specializing in high technology, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications participated in the visit.

Notably, Galaxy Entertainment Group, a major hotel and casino operator in Macao and a strategic partner of the Société des Bains de Mer since 2017, was represented by its General Affairs Director, Mr. Buddy Lam.

During a dinner hosted by H.E. Ms. Marie-Pascale Boisson, the Ambassador of Monaco to China, the delegation engaged in discussions with representatives from Monaco's Departments of Finance, Economy, and External Relations and Cooperation, as well as the Monaco Economic Board and the Tourism and Congress Directorate.

This gathering provided an opportunity for Monégasque business leaders active in technological innovation to connect with their Macanese counterparts and discuss potential collaborations.

At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Tai Kin Ip expressed that the meeting marked the beginning of efforts to further develop the already existing relations between Monaco and Macao.
