Mobile Mini Waste Collection Service Launched in Monaco
New initiative aims to facilitate the disposal of special household waste while promoting environmental protection.
In collaboration with the Government of Monaco, the Société Monégasque d'Assainissement (SMA) has launched a mobile mini waste collection service for Special Household Waste.
This initiative aims to enhance ease of disposal and contribute to environmental protection efforts in the Principality.
The service, inaugurated on March 7 and 8, 2025, at the Quai Antoine Ier during the MonaCollecte event, will be available on the first Saturday of every month from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in various neighborhoods across Monaco.
Residents are no longer required to travel to waste disposal sites, as the service brings the collection directly to local communities.
Designed to simplify recycling practices and mitigate the risks associated with the prolonged storage of hazardous products, this free service is exclusively for individual residents.
A dedicated team from SMA will handle the collected waste, ensuring it is treated in a secure and environmentally friendly manner.
The team will also be available to answer any questions related to waste management and will distribute informative materials, pre-collection bags, and bags specifically for pet waste.
Certain types of waste will not be accepted due to space and safety considerations.
Items that cannot be collected include gas bottles, fire extinguishers, healthcare waste categorized as DASRI ( déchets d’activités de soins à risques infectieux), green waste, rubble, bulky items, and common household waste, which has an established existing public collection service.
More information about the mini waste collection service is available through the SMA's official website.
