The fourth edition of MonaCollecte will take place on March 7 and 8, 2025, focusing on waste collection, reuse, and recycling.
The Société Monégasque d’Assainissement (SMA) and the Department of Urban Planning, in partnership with the Municipality of Monaco, will host the fourth edition of MonaCollecte on March 7 and 8, 2025, at Quai Antoine Ier from 10 AM to 7 PM. This initiative aims to promote solidarity through the collection and recycling of items that individuals no longer need.
The event encourages participants to bring their unwanted items to a central location for proper disposal.
Charitable organizations will be present to collect reusable items, including clothing, toys, books, small electronic appliances, and household goods.
Items that cannot be reused will be processed through the recycling facilities operated by the SMA.
MonaCollecte will feature a range of free activities, exhibitions, and informative stands focused on waste collection, sorting, recycling, and waste transformation.
The schedule includes workshops specifically for primary school students on March 7 from 9 AM to 11 AM and from 2 PM to 4 PM; the general public will have free access outside of these times.
On March 8, access will be unrestricted to all visitors.
Additionally, an escape game will take place on Saturday, March 8, with hourly slots available from 10 AM to 5 PM, although participation will require prior registration due to limited spots.
The event is specifically designed for individual contributions only.
Professionals are directed to their designated waste disposal channels.
Acceptable items for donation by charitable associations include:
- Clothing and accessories (adult and children’s clothing, socks, hats, jackets)
- Sleeping bags, blankets, and towels
- School supplies and toys
- Small furniture and kitchenware
- Small electronics and books
- Personal hygiene items such as hand sanitizers
Moreover, MonaCollecte encourages the disposal of specific types of toxic waste, including:
- Household cleaning products, gardening chemicals, paints, solvents, and batteries
- Medical waste such as used medications and x-rays
- Small electronic waste and light bulbs
Notably, large bulk items and construction debris will not be accepted.
Access to the event is supported by designated drop-off zones for vehicles at Quai Antoine Ier, with pedestrian entries available at both ends.
Volunteers from the local Scouts organization will assist attendees in navigating the event and transporting their donations using available carts.
Participating partners include waste treatment companies such as Paprec, which manages the sorting of recyclable household waste, and Ecolvetro, which oversees glass recycling processes.
Visitors will have opportunities to learn about different recycling methods and materials through informative presentations and demonstrations.
