Monaco's Sovereign Extends Support to U.S. Amidst Devastating Wildfires
On January 10th, Prince Albert II of Monaco sent a message of solidarity to U.S. President
Joe Biden in light of the devastating wildfires in California.
In an official dispatch from the Princely Palace, the Prince expressed his deep sorrow over the human and material losses caused by the fires, which have resulted in 24 deaths, displaced thousands, and destroyed over 12,000 structures.
Prince Albert II offered his condolences, stating, 'I am deeply moved by the tragic consequences of the multiple fires currently ravaging California.
The human and material losses are devastating.
On behalf of my Family and the people of Monaco, I wish to express our solidarity and compassion to the victims, the homeless, and all those affected by these fires.'
He also commended the efforts of the firefighters and rescue teams, acknowledging their courage and unwavering determination that have saved lives.
'Please be assured, Mr. President, of our profound solidarity in this difficult trial,' he wrote.
This gesture of support is not the first from Prince Albert II to the United States and President Biden.
Following a car-ramming attack in New Orleans during New Year celebrations, which resulted in 14 deaths and numerous injuries, the Prince conveyed his condolences in a letter to the U.S. President.
In that message, he expressed deep solidarity with the families of the victims and the American people, while strongly condemning the act of violence.
