Total Train Interruption Between Nice and Monaco on May 31, 2025
SNCF announces complete suspension of train services for electrical work on new maintenance facility.
The French railway company SNCF will completely suspend train services between Nice and Monaco on Saturday, May 31, 2025, to carry out electrical work connecting the new maintenance facility at Nice-Ville to the national rail network.
Train services between Monaco and Ventimiglia will be limited to two trains per hour in each direction, down from the usual four trains.
Additionally, the Nice-Drap line will be interrupted, with substitute buses provided between Nice-Ville, Drap-Cantaron, and Touët-de-l’Escarène.
However, connections between Cannes and Nice-Ville will remain unaffected and will operate as per the regular schedule.
Alternative transport solutions include ZOU! bus lines L600 and L601 Noctambus, available for commuters along the Menton – Monaco – Nice route.
Train subscribers will be able to access these services free of charge on May 31 by presenting a specific "Pass Travaux" document, which can be downloaded from the TER Sud website.
This operation is part of a broader project aimed at optimizing regional railway infrastructure in anticipation of market opening to new operators.
The Nice-Ville maintenance center is expected to facilitate a doubling of TER inter-metropolitan services between Nice and Marseille starting June 29, 2025. For up-to-date information, travelers can visit the TER website or contact the ZOU! customer service.
