Upcoming Theatrical Presentation of 'Merteuil' in Monaco

Marjorie Frantz's play, a sequel to 'Les Liaisons dangereuses', will be performed from May 8 to 11, 2025.
The theatrical production of _Merteuil_, authored by playwright Marjorie Frantz, is set to take place at the Théâtre des Muses in Monaco from May 8 to May 11, 2025. This play is conceived as a continuation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s classic work, _Les Liaisons dangereuses_, which was originally published in 1782.

The narrative of _Merteuil_ is set in 1799, centering around the Marquise de Merteuil, who, after spending fifteen years in exile, receives an enigmatic invitation to a remote hunting lodge.

This unexpected return plunges her back into the complexities of her past, particularly her previous relationships, including one with Cécile de Volanges.

Frantz's work delves into significant themes such as manipulation, power dynamics, and the condition of women, while also reflecting on the passage of time and its impact on individuals and their decisions.

The production is directed by Salomé Villiers, with the main roles filled by Marjorie Frantz and Chloé Berthier.

The performance is recommended for audiences aged 14 and above.

The venue for the performance is located at 45 Boulevard du Jardin Exotique in Monaco.

Showtimes are scheduled for Thursday, May 8, Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, 2025, starting at 20:00, with an additional matinee on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 16:30. Ticket prices are set at 31 euros, with reduced rates for audiences aged 12 to 18 and students at 19 euros.

Reservations and additional information can be obtained through the theatre's official website or by phone.
