Alexandre Mars: Bridging Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy
The entrepreneur and philanthropist shares his vision at Monaco Economic Board conference on transforming societal contributions.
Alexandre Mars, a prominent entrepreneur and visionary philanthropist, addressed the Monaco Economic Board during a conference that focused on his innovative approach to philanthropy and social impact.
Mars began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 17, motivated not by the mere pursuit of wealth but by the belief that "money can bring a degree of freedom" to "do good things." Despite holding degrees from renowned institutions such as HEC and Paris-Dauphine, he attributes his success to instinct and has founded several prosperous enterprises in the digital and financial sectors.
About ten years ago, he marked a significant shift in his career by establishing Epic, an international foundation designed to revolutionize philanthropy.
Mars identified three main obstacles faced by potential donors: distrust, uncertainty regarding where to contribute, and a lack of knowledge.
In response, he developed a framework that effectively connects individuals eager to help with rigorously vetted organizations focused on education, equality, and environmental protection.
In conjunction with Epic, Mars founded Blisce/, recognized as the first investment firm in its sector to receive BCorp certification.
This initiative aims to transform capital into an instrument for social improvement, reflecting Mars' belief that "the role of finance should not solely be to make money."
His latest initiative, INFINITE, exemplifies his pragmatic philosophy by enabling talented youth from underserved backgrounds to finance their education at prestigious institutions without interest or collateral.
Under this system, each repayment contributes to the next beneficiary's funding.
During the conference held at MonacoTech on April 4, Alexandre Mars impressed the approximately sixty attending leaders with his authenticity and optimism, demonstrating that entrepreneurship can harmoniously coexist with positive social impact.
