Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron Embark on a Stroll During State Visit to Monaco

The French presidential couple enjoys a rare moment of leisure amidst official engagements.
During their historic state visit to Monaco, French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron took advantage of a brief window to enjoy a stroll on Saturday evening.

The couple departed from the Hôtel Hermitage approximately half an hour before their scheduled return to the Prince's Palace for a state dinner held in their honor.

At around 7:30 PM, after leaving the Prince’s Palace, the Macrons made a quick stop at the Hôtel Hermitage, situated near the bustling Monte-Carlo area.

Hand-in-hand, the presidential couple greeted patrons seated on the terrace as they moved through the upscale boutiques of One Monte-Carlo, an area that debuted in 2019, before making their way up Princess Charlène Avenue.

The couple took a moment to speak with Eric Arella, the Director of Public Security for Monaco, whose team was tasked with escorting them during their outing.

They continued their walk through the Boulingrins Gardens, which overlook the iconic Casino de Monte-Carlo, passing by surprised and delighted tourists who encountered the presidential pair.

As they proceeded across the Casino square in front of the crowded Café de Paris terrace, the couple received enthusiastic greetings, drawing attention from passersby and car enthusiasts alike, with many taking photos in their presence.

Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron were frequently saluted by onlookers calling out the President’s name in various languages as they passed by the Opéra Garnier and the Casino Terraces.

In a secluded moment, the couple stopped to admire the view of the Mediterranean Sea, standing over the Promenade of Champions, which features the imprints of some of football's greatest players embedded in marble.

Dressed casually—with Emmanuel rolling up his white shirt sleeves and Brigitte donning a stylish outfit coupled with black sunglasses—they resumed their brisk walk, passing the Buddha Bar before returning once more through the Jardins des Boulingrins.

The princely couple was warmly acknowledged by onlookers, prompting them to express their gratitude in response.

Upon their return to the Hôtel Hermitage, where they would spend the night, they were met by Stéphane Valeri, the president of Société des Bains de Mer (SBM).

Following a kiss shared with her husband, Brigitte Macron retired to their suite while Emmanuel was escorted to the wine cellars of the Hôtel de Paris, located beneath the Hôtel Hermitage, for a brief tour of the historic venue, which recently celebrated its 150th anniversary.
