Monaco Prepares for Final Ligue 1 Match Against Lens

Coach Adi Hütter fields a revised lineup as AS Monaco eyes second place in the league standings.
AS Monaco's head coach, Adi Hütter, announced intentions to rest key players ahead of the club's final Ligue 1 match against RC Lens, scheduled for Saturday evening at 21:00 local time.

Having already secured qualification for the forthcoming UEFA Champions League following a 2-0 victory over Olympique Lyonnais the previous weekend, Monaco is now targeting the second place in the league standings.

The team needs to secure a better result than Olympique de Marseille, who will be facing Stade Rennais simultaneously, holding a one-point advantage over Monaco.

This relatively low-stakes scenario has prompted Hütter to field a starting XI that includes several players seeking additional match time.

In a 4-2-3-1 formation, Ilenikhena is set to lead the attack, while Magassa joins Camara in the double pivot.

Diatta will occupy the right winger position, and Ben Seghir is positioned as the central attacking midfielder.

Notably, captain Minamino retains his role, while key players such as Zakaria and Kehrer will start on the bench.

Ilenikhena is slated for his seventh starting appearance of the season, marking his first since January 5 during the Trophée des Champions, where Monaco were narrowly defeated by Paris Saint-Germain.

Diatta, for his part, has not started a match since February 22, when Monaco struggled against Lille, losing 2-1.

The match will see several notable absentees from the Monaco squad: Golovin (adductor injury), Balogun (ankle), and Al-Musrati (calf) are all sidelined.

Additionally, Salisu, Ouattara, Coulibaly, and Diop were not included in the matchday squad.

The starting XI for AS Monaco is as follows: Köhn - Teze, Singo, Mawissa, Henrique - Magassa, Camara - Diatta, Ben Seghir, Minamino (captain) - Ilenikhena.
