The exhibition 'Raoul Dufy: The Miracle of Imagination' highlights the artist's evolution until September 28, 2025.
The Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret in Nice is hosting a major retrospective titled 'Raoul Dufy: The Miracle of Imagination', which will run until September 28, 2025. This exhibition provides an in-depth look at the artistic journey of Raoul Dufy, an influential French painter, born in 1877 and passing in 1953. It traces the evolution of his style from his early influences by the works of Paul Cézanne to the development of his distinctive artistic voice.
The exhibition features a diverse array of Dufy's works, including his representations of idyllic landscapes in Normandy and Provence, vibrant port scenes, and depictions of bathers and festive occasions.
Additionally, it highlights his extensive contributions to multiple art forms, including engraving, textiles, and ceramics.
Dufy's versatility is notable, as he was not only a painter but also a designer of textiles, tapestries, furniture, and a decorator for both public spaces and theatrical settings.
The museum is located at 33 Avenue des Baumettes in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes.
It operates daily except on Mondays, from 11 AM to 6 PM. Admission is priced at 10 euros, which grants access to all museums in Nice for a period of 48 hours.
