11th Edition of 'Partir en Livre' Festival Celebrates Children's Literature in Alpes-Maritimes
The national festival promoting youth reading will run from June 18 to July 20, 2025.
The 11th edition of 'Partir en Livre,' France's national festival dedicated to children's literature, is scheduled to take place from June 18 to July 20, 2025, across the Alpes-Maritimes region and the entire country.
This event, organized by the National Book Centre with support from the Ministry of Culture, aims to encourage young readers during the summer months.
This year's theme is 'Animals and Us,' which focuses on the connection between humans and the animal kingdom as explored in children's literature.
Animals—whether domestic, wild, or fantastical—frequently appear in children's stories, serving as vehicles for discussions on diverse topics including ecology, environmental conservation, and sensitivity to otherness.
Throughout the Alpes-Maritimes, various libraries, media libraries, bookstores, and cultural organizations, in addition to beaches, campsites, and recreational centers, will host a range of free activities.
These include reading workshops, author and illustrator meet-and-greets, performances, games, and exhibitions.
Detailed event programming for the Alpes-Maritimes area can be found on the official 'Partir en Livre' website or by consulting local libraries and media libraries.
The festival is part of a broader initiative to foster a love of reading among children, providing accessible literary experiences and promoting community engagement through diverse literary activities.
