United Airlines Launches Direct Flight from Nice to Washington D.C.
The new seasonal route enhances transatlantic connectivity and reflects growing demand from affluent American travelers.
United Airlines inaugurated its direct seasonal flight from Nice, France, to Washington D.C. on May 23, marking a significant addition to the transatlantic travel options available from the French Riviera.
The route is operated four times a week using a Boeing 767-300 and highlights the increasing appeal of Nice among wealthy American tourists.
This new service is part of the airline's largest international expansion in its history, resulting in an increase of over 30% in seat capacity from Nice to the United States for the summer of 2025. The expansion reflects a growing interest from American travelers in the attractions offered by the Côte d'Azur.
Grégoire Dutoit, the commercial director for France at United Airlines, emphasized that the nonstop flight enhances travel opportunities for customers not only in Nice but also in Monaco and the surrounding regions of the Côte d'Azur.
The route connects passengers to more than 130 destinations across the United States through United's hubs in Washington D.C. and New York/Newark.
Onboard the Boeing 767-300, travelers can choose from three classes: 30 United Polaris business-class suites with direct aisle access, 24 Premium Plus seats, and 149 economy seats.
The business class features curated dining options and wellness products by Therabody, with additional touches from partnerships with high-end retailer Saks Fifth Avenue.
This new direct flight complements United's existing service from Nice to New York/Newark and is set against the backdrop of daily flights from Paris to various destinations in the United States.
Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Board of Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur, stated that this route exemplifies the increasing attractiveness of the region and aligns with efforts to connect it more effectively to major global cities.
The launch of this luxurious air route is poised to transform travel dynamics between the Mediterranean region of Europe and North America.
