Monaco to Host the International Dog Show in May 2025
Record Participation Expected as Over 1,400 Dogs Compete at the Fontvieille Pavilion
Monaco will be the center of the canine world when the International Dog Show returns to the Chapiteau de Fontvieille on May 10 and 11, 2025. Anticipating record participation, the event is expected to surpass the previous year's attendance, showcasing over 1,400 dogs representing 262 different breeds from 26 countries.
Organized by the Société Canine de Monaco, the event is chaired by Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, who emphasizes the importance of this event within the global canine community.
During the two-day competition, international judges will evaluate the dogs on their movement and conformation from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Notably, last year's show saw an Australian Shepherd emerge victorious in front of an audience that included members of the Princely Family, who are known supporters of the event.
The 2025 edition will place a focus on the Berger Picard breed, enhancing the competition's appeal and spotlighting its traits.
The Monaco Dog Show has recently been granted the status of a qualifying competition for the prestigious Crufts dog show, often referred to as the 'Olympics of dog shows' held annually in Birmingham, England.
This recognition allows winners from Monaco to automatically qualify for Crufts, highlighting the event's growing significance in the canine exhibition calendar.
For visitors, the International Dog Show will provide opportunities to watch engaging demonstrations, learn about various dog breeds, and interact with breeders from around the globe.
Ticket prices are set to remain consistent with previous years, costing €10 for adults, while entry will be free for children under the age of 12. Further details about the event and a complete program can be found on the official website of the Monaco Kennel Club.
