29th Nice Book Festival Set to Feature Over 200 Authors

The festival will take place from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at the Albert I Garden, marking a significant event in the literary calendar.
The 29th edition of the Nice Book Festival is scheduled to be held from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at the Albert I Garden in Nice, France.

This free literary event will host more than 200 authors, among them notable figures such as Sylvain Tesson, René Frégni, Alice Zeniter, David Foenkinos, Didier Van Cauwelaert, Kamel Daoud, and Christine Angot.

The festival will be presided over by journalist and activist Allain Bougrain-Dubourg, and will offer a variety of activities including meetings, debates, conferences, readings, and book signings.

This year, the Nice Baie des Anges Prize will be awarded to Andrei Makine, a member of the Académie française, for his novel _Prisonnier du rêve écarlate_ (2025), published by Grasset.

The award ceremony is set to take place during the opening event on Friday, May 30, 2025, in the presence of Christian Estrosi, the Mayor of Nice, and Franz-Olivier Giesbert, the president of the jury.

The overarching theme for this edition is "Prendre le large" (Setting Sail).

The festival will take place at the Albert I Garden, located at 2-16 Avenue de Verdun, and in various locations throughout the city.

Opening hours are from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on all three days, with free access to all venues.
