Officially opened on May 19, 2023, the Monte-Carlo Cigar Club aims to be a premier destination for cigar enthusiasts worldwide.
The Monte-Carlo Cigar Club was inaugurated on May 19, 2023, in the presence of Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Located within the iconic Casino de Monte-Carlo, the club is set to become a global reference point for cigar aficionados, officially opening its doors to the public on May 28, 2023.
Housed in the former office of François Blanc, the founder of the Société des Bains de Mer, the Mont-Carlo Cigar Club has been in development for nearly two years.
It offers a unique selection of 275 long filler cigar references sourced from Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic, totaling over 35,000 handmade cigars.
Stéphane Valeri, the deputy president of Monte-Carlo SBM, remarked during the inauguration, "In this project, the talents, expertise, and shared passion have formed a dynamic of rare energy to make this exceptional place a cigar club destined to be among the most prestigious in the world."
The club spans a spacious 200 square meters and features a large terrace with sea views, designed by architects Bruno Moinard and Claire Bétaille.
The inaugural event was attended by notable figures including Albert Manzone, the general director of the group and initiator of the project, as well as Dominique Gyselinck and Frédéric Deschamps, founder and CEO of the strategic partner company Dominique London.
Other attendees included Christophe Navarre, SBM administrator and cigar enthusiast, and Philippe Gatti, Director of the Monaco Tobacco Authority.
A total of around 100 guests participated in the launch event, which included Randolph Leonard Spencer Churchill, a direct descendant of Winston Churchill, who is well-known for his love of cigars.
The gathering also featured officials from the Principality, luxury industry representatives, the architects, artisans involved in the project, and initial club members, all orchestrated by Jean Thomas, the director of the establishment.
