Renovation of Caves de l’Hôtel de Paris in Monaco Unveiled
The historic wine cellars reopen with luxurious upgrades and a new private club.
The Caves de l’Hôtel de Paris in Monaco have officially reopened following a significant renovation, with festivities marking the occasion on June 11. This expansive 1,500-square-meter space, located 10 meters underground, blends heritage, luxury, and winemaking culture, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the establishment.
The renovation project was undertaken by the Parisian design duo Moinard Bétaille in collaboration with Monaco-based architect Gabriel Viora.
The updated facilities emphasize high-quality materials, innovative lighting, and the enhancement of historical features, creating new upscale areas within the famed wine cellars.
A notable area, named the Réserve Marie Blanc, pays tribute to the founder of the cellars, showcasing valuable vintages such as a Cognac Grande Champagne from 1809 and a Mouton-Rothschild from 1945.
In addition to the renovated cellars, a new exclusive club has been introduced: the Cercle des Caves de l’Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo.
Designed for discerning wine enthusiasts, this club offers private tastings, intimate dinners, and special meetings with renowned winemakers, managed by Patrice Frank, the director of the venue.
Notably, Prince Albert II has been officially inducted into this exclusive circle.
The reopening of the cellars extends its influence beyond Monaco, as the Monegasque pavilion at the upcoming 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan, will feature an oenological journey sponsored by the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer group.
