Screening of _Blow-Up_ at Monaco's Théâtre des Variétés

The 1966 film _Blow-Up_, directed by Italian filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni, is set to be screened at the Théâtre des Variétés in Monaco on May 27, 2025. The film is based on the short story _Las babas del diablo_ by Argentine writer Julio Cortázar, published in 1963. _Blow-Up_ follows a London fashion photographer who inadvertently uncovers potential evidence of a murder while developing photographs taken in a park.
Set against the backdrop of Swinging London in the 1960s, the film delves into themes of perception, image, and reality.
It features performances by David Hemmings and Vanessa Redgrave and represents a significant moment in Antonioni's career as his first English-language film.
In 1967, _Blow-Up_ was awarded the prestigious Palme d’or at the Cannes Film Festival.
