Béatrice Fresko-Rolfo's Diplomatic and Humanitarian Visit to Kiev
Monaco's commitment to human rights and support for displaced children highlighted during a mission in Ukraine.
From February 22 to 25, 2025, Béatrice Fresko-Rolfo, head of the Monaco delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), visited Kiev as part of a diplomatic and humanitarian mission.
This visit reaffirmed Monaco's commitment to human rights, aid for displaced children, and interparliamentary dialogue, as stated in a press release.
Amid an ongoing conflict that has significantly impacted civilian populations, Fresko-Rolfo participated in a commemoration ceremony alongside President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska.
This moment of reflection, shared with international leaders including Ursula von der Leyen and Justin Trudeau, aimed to demonstrate European solidarity with Ukraine on the ground.
During the Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference, Béatrice Fresko-Rolfo engaged in strategic discussions with European decision-makers, including former French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
The discussions centered on regional security issues and support mechanisms for Ukraine.
She also met with Iryna Suslova, Ukraine's representative for children's rights.
This meeting, organized with two other parliamentarians, facilitated dialogue on initiatives to locate Ukrainian children displaced abroad and facilitate their return to their families.
Additionally, a conversation with officials responsible for the repatriation of prisoners of war allowed for an evaluation of the logistical and humanitarian challenges associated with these sensitive operations.
