On February 5, 2025, AS Cannes triumphed over Dives-Cabourg 5-3 in a compelling match at the Coubertin Stadium, earning them a place in the quarterfinals of the Coupe de France.

This marks AS Cannes' first advancement to the quarterfinals since 2014, when they lost to eventual champions Guingamp.

The match began with a strong start for AS Cannes, as striker Julien Domingues opened the scoring in the 9th minute following a cross from Chafik Abbas.

Domingues quickly doubled the lead just three minutes later with an acrobatic bicycle kick, solidifying his impressive run, which saw him score 13 goals in the last 11 matches.

Despite a determined performance from Dives-Cabourg, which plays in National 3, they managed to pull closer with a goal from Aurélien Thoris in the 25th minute.

However, AS Cannes responded just before halftime, as Chafik Abbas scored with a powerful strike, making it 3-1.

The second half saw Dives-Cabourg continue to fight back; Théo Fontaine scored in the 53rd minute, reducing the gap to 3-2. Nevertheless, AS Cannes maintained their composure, with Jonathan Mambu scoring in the 69th minute, extending the lead to 4-2. Gonçalves added a fifth goal for Cannes in the 87th minute before Alban Bekombo netted a late penalty for Dives-Cabourg, finalizing the score at 5-3.

The match, attended by approximately 6,500 fans, showcased AS Cannes' offensive prowess and resilience as they await the draw for their next opponent, scheduled to be announced on February 6, 2025, at 19:50. This victory continues a historic campaign for the club, which seeks to advance further in one of France's most prestigious football tournaments.
