Cannes to Host Easter Oratorio Concert Featuring National Orchestra
The National Orchestra of Cannes will perform Bach's 'Kommt, eilet und laufet' on April 21, 2025.
The Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage church in Cannes is set to host the National Orchestra of Cannes for the Easter Oratorio concert on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The concert will be conducted by Pavel Baleff and will feature performances by soprano Déborah Cachet, alto Anthea Pichanick, tenor David Munderloh, and bass Adrien Fournaison, alongside the vocal ensemble La Sestina under the direction of Stephan Nicolay, and the chamber choir 1732 directed by Bruno Habert.
Audiences will hear the cantata _Kommt, eilet und laufet_ by Johann Sebastian Bach, who lived from 1685 to 1750. This piece was later referred to by the composer as an oratorio a decade after its initial performance in 1735 when he made several modifications to the work.
The concert will also take place again at 5:00 PM on the same day at the Notre-Dame-du-Liban church in Mandelieu-la-Napoule.
Tickets are priced at either 25 or 40 euros, with a reduced rate of 10 euros for attendees under the age of 26. Further information and reservations can be made through the orchestra's official website.
