The film by Egyptian director Hala Elkoussy will be showcased on April 1, 2025.
The film 'East of Noon' (2024) is scheduled for screening at the Théâtre des Variétés in Monaco on April 1, 2025. This event is organized by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco in collaboration with the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco (NMNM).
Directed by Hala Elkoussy, the film tells the story of Abdo, a 19-year-old music prodigy who uses his art to resist the authority of his elders in a world that is both confined and timeless.
'East of Noon' serves as a satire on the internal workings of a faltering autocracy, addressing themes such as youth, rebellion, and the quest for freedom.
The drama gained recognition after its presentation in 2024 at the Directors' Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival.
The screening will take place at the Théâtre des Variétés, located at 1 Boulevard Albert I, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 7:00 PM. Tickets are priced at 8 euros.
